Changing Minds IAPT
You can also refer yourself to the NHFT Changing Minds IAPT service. IAPT is for anyone aged 17 and half and over with mild to moderate depression and/or an anxiety disorder. It can be accessed via an online referral form (where you can also request an interpreter if needed). There is also an option to complete programmes via an online portal called SilverCloud (both these options allow individuals to interact without using the telephone, and then appointments can be made via text or email).
Mental health Crisis Cafés
Crisis Cafés are an easily accessible service available in the evenings and/or at weekends for people who are finding themselves in a crisis or need support with their mental health. The main aim is to support people to reduce immediate crisis and to safety plan; drawing on strengths, resilience, and coping mechanisms to manage people's mental health and wellbeing.
These are facilitated by a mental health professional and a Local Mind peer support worker who will provide support and safety to the person in need, by offering coping mechanisms and management techniques to help reduce the risk of crisis. As well as offering support, professionals can also refer and signpost to the further services if required. Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT) and the Local Minds are working together to offer free Crisis Cafés across Northamptonshire for anyone over the age of 18.
For the list of all locations, dates and times please visit www.nhft.nhs.uk/crisis-cafe.
There is no need to call and book an appointment, simply drop into a location on the date/times specified to receive support and find your safe place with hope and comfort.
